While national name brand locations can be wonderful, why not soak up the flavor of the local entrepreneurship during your time in the Valley of the Sun? From milk to coffee to T-shirts to candy, locally-owned stores—and locally-made products—are found in abundance in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Here are a handful of our favorites.
1 MADE ART BOUTIQUE
In 2005, Cindy Dach and Greg Esser opened MADE art boutique in Phoenix, because as Cindy explains, she wanted to share the artist as a crafter experience with the community, and to offer functional, handmade artwork at a lower price point in order to expand the scope and opportunity of artists’ work in Arizona. Today, the retail and community space hosts events and offers an ever-changing inventory of one-of-a-kind items, including jewelry, pottery, desert-themed paintings, shirts and gifts made by a variety of artists.
