What does beauty mean? Especially for men? Is it aiming for the classical ideal as witnessed in the ancient Greek sculptures of athletic gods and warriors? Buffbodies, chiselled features, springy curls? Or, a reflection on the make-up traditions of the ancient Egyptian kings, paralleled perhaps in the gender-inclusive make-up looks of today (think heavy kohl-lined almond eyes, a lavish use of guyliner). Or is it simply in discovering a certain balance and harmony with nature and finding an intense feeling of well-being? In being mindful always about what is being slathered on or ingested?
