Michelin-star chef Mads Refslund, who was in Oman for a special culinary stint hosted by Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa, believes in the philosophy of turning simple ingredients into stars of each dish he creates. Anne Kurian heads to Al Husn for an evening of fine dining and flavours

It’s not always that a Michelin-star chef visits Oman. So, when we got to know that Chef Mads Refslund, co-founder of the restaurant that won the title of World’s Best Restaurant four times and two Michelin stars would be in Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa in Muscat for a culinary showcase, we knew it was something not to be missed. The famed Nordic chef cofounded NOMA, popularly referred to as the World’s Best Restaurant, in Copenhagen and made his native cuisine renowned in New York.
