To kick this off can you take us back to the start of last year when you swapped race teams from your buddies at Intense over to the unknown at Scott Factory Racing. How did all that play out in the end?
It was actually quite hard, I’m not going to lie. I was pretty down about the whole thing for a long time, it felt like I went from a bit of a family not, just a team. You would think you’re just leaving a cool team but, honestly, it was me, Chuck and Jack, and we’re always committed as friends. You’re not going to get that often on a race team, where your two teammates are also your two close friends. But then, with me going to the Scott Factory Team I didn’t really feel like I did the right thing at first. When I arrived at the first World Cup of the season, in our pits everyone was speaking French, and I always felt like a bit of an outcast in a way. So, the start of the whole move was quite daunting, I guess you’d say. But by round three we were all close mates and it definitely got a lot easier a lot quicker. I don’t think it’s ever going to be as close as what it was when I was on Intense. Still, I feel like that was just a special point in my racing career, and I’m definitely going to cherish it.
This offseason has been a lot different for you than any before. Tell us a bit about your change of pace and what the catalyst of all of it has been?
