You've tried the KonMari method and laid all your family’s belongings out, asking each family member whether they spark joy. Let’s face it, it’s a hard ask. What if it sparks joy later on? It’s sometimes hard to let go of your precious belongings. But fear not, there are easier ways to spring clean. Here’s some genius ideas to try right now.
ASK THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
We’re not saying you should ask if an item sparks joy, but there are some questions you can ask when you are deciding to throw out that frock you haven’t worn in four years, or the stiletto heels that you teetered on at a wedding a decade ago. According to Psychology Today you should ask yourself, “If I was just buying this now, how much would I pay?” to get a good indication of how much it’s worth of your hard-earned bucks in your mind. Another good one? “Would I be happy to run into my ex wearing this?” If the answer is no, chuck it.
