BRIDGER RISKED HIS LIFE TO RESCUE HIS BABY SISTER FROM A DOG ATTACK
Charlotte Nisbett
SAVED BY HER BIG BROTHER

When Bridger Walker, 6, realised a dog was about to attack his little sister, he put his own life at risk to save hers.

Bridger was visiting a friend’s house with his 4-year-old sister Jessica* on July 9, when they went into the back garden to meet their friend’s dogs.

But as one of the dogs – a German Shepherd cross – launched at his little sister, brave Bridger pushed her out of the way and stepped into the path of the dog, putting his own life at risk.

As he was trying to protect his sister, the dog leaped and latched onto Bridger’s cheek, ripping his face from his scalp.

But despite the agony he was facing, Bridger still bravely managed to shout for Jessica to run while he was being mauled by the dog. Eventually, the dog let go and Bridger ran to his sister to make sure she was in a secure part of the garden where he felt they would be safe while the owner secured the dog.
