Bass For The Active

Back in our March 2020 edition (page 80) we reviewed the Jabra Elite 75t, and now its time to check out its more active sibling. Jabra presented the Elite Active at CES 2020 back in January, and it carries over many of the features that the Elite 75t has, with one important edition they are IP57 waterproof, and capable of being submerged in 1 metre of water for half an hour.

Now this, of course, doesn’t mean that you should go swimming with this pair of TWS earbuds, but this feature alone will attract consumers who’ve been caught in the rain while commuting or need a good pair of earbuds for their workout.

Compared to the Elite 75t, the Elite Active 75t earbuds feel a bit more rubberised to stop them from sliding out of sweaty ears, and this extends to the charging case, which has also had a rubberised coating applied to provide a better grip. Both earbuds snap into their charging cradles thanks to a handy magnet, and you can also magnetically attach both earbuds together when you place them on a table to stop them from rolling around.

Now the one thing that the Elite Active 75t does not have is Active Noise Cancellation but by design, the passive noise isolation from this TWS earbuds are actually quite effective - Jabra reduced the size of the in-ear trunk of the earbuds slightly, and have included redesigned silicon EarGels that feel very comfortable to wear so they don’t feel like you’re shoving an oversized cotton-bud into your ear canal. The earbuds feel very light to wear as they’re about 5.5g each, and stays in place well during jogs and workouts. Jabra have also added a pressure relief vent to the earbuds that are frequency-dependant and optimised for bass.
