A round-up of all the latest kits, books and blingy bits

Trumpeter Titanic

To date, I have been lucky enough to build models of the titanic in 1/1200, 1/1000, 1/700, 1/550, 1/400 and 1/350 scales; you could say I’m quite keen on her. As with the majority of big Trumpeter releases, anticipation and a long build up added to the excitement and the release of a 1/200 Titanic in December 2019 was something I had set my sights on. For decades the biggest Titanic you could get was in 1/350, an acceptable size and one which is big enough to take all the paraphernalia needed to put it on the pond. Now 1/200 raised the bar considerably from a ‘Plastic Magic’ point of view thanks to a cavernous unobstructed hull; the only potential problem would be how much ballast you are going to need and a helper to get her to the pond side – details!
