Who benefits the most by making us feel unhappy with how we look? And should we be putting our bodies through constant turmoil to look conventionally beautiful?
Our bodies are not Instagram props. They’re our carriage to live, experience and journey through all we do till the end. Why is it then that we shun these very vehicles that are paramount to our existence? Skinny, chubby, fat, freckled, wrinkled, taut, tiny, deformed — no matter which of these bodies you have, you are pretty likely to hate it or be ashamed of it. That’s just how we are wired. Our incessant need for more and striving for perfection is the very essence of being human. We often run after the ‘ideal’ but a lot of times, in the process we lose out on living the moment. And this is truest when it comes to our bodies.
