Despite the still very widely held view that the Women’s Institute is simply a group of elderly ladies who make jam and are good at making cakes and serving up cups of tea in a local crisis, those in the know are fully aware that this is not the case. Helping our young people with their reading skills is just another example of the very valuable community work undertaken by many WI members throughout the country.
