Jaguar, much like its home country, Britain, isn’t enjoying the best of times. Punters have scrutinised its woes considerably and the verdict is nearly unanimous: Jaguar is about performance, desire and potency, and that’s what its cars should primarily reflect. Hell, its most iconic car till date – E-Type – is essentially a phallus. In the Indian context as well, the news hasn’t been particularly good for a while. This once proud stalwart of British performance and luxury has been overlooked in favour of crisper competition on whose side the technological scales tip ever so slightly. Meanwhile, the sexy XE made do with a comparatively drab interior.
