It may have been only four years since her shy debut in the movie Student Of The Year, but the 23-year-old Alia Bhatt has achieved the kind of star status not many in her family had. Her Highway to success may have been sometimes smooth, sometimes bumpy, although it has truly been Shaandaar.
STARTING YOUNG
Alia Bhatt, who started her career in a one-off appearance as the childhood version of Preity Zinta in Sangharsh, is today on the wish-list of almost every filmmaker, is being chased by brands and from Randeep Hooda to Shah Rukh Khan (who is working with her in Gauri Shinde’s film, Dear Zindagi), she has had all sorts of co-stars - and that itself could be a daunting task to portray chemistry. Alia herself does not see that as intimidating and says, “the fact that I am so talkative helps me break the ice. Also, more than being awed by people like Shah Rukh Khan or Karan Johar, I think of working with them as attending a masterclass. That really helps me.”
But hasn’t the fact that she is Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter helped her career soar? “oh no way!” she protests, adding, “The Bhatt genes could be there in my craft, but my surname hasn’t really helped my career. I don’t have a single Bhatt film.” (laughs)

Why Can't I Be a Happy Soul?
Sadness prevails within us at any and mostly at the time when we need to be calm. Our brain has the power to make us feel lonely, deserted, restless, angry and sometimes isolated.
