What does your arrival routine look like?
Morning arrivals are always brimming with excitement. Our children are greeted personally by smiling teachers who are excited to see them at the start of each day.
After following our strict safety protocols, temperature-taking and hand sanitisation, our children are free to play and socialise with their friends, before the day begins. It’s a lovely start to the day and one that has integrated incidental learning opportunities as well. Different activities are set up each morning to get children excited about learning and to introduce new skills and themes.
Can you share what happens during a typical morning?
Morning activities are exploratory and diverse. Our children start the day with a Perceptual Motor Programme (PMP). Movement training improves physical performance and mental performance as well.
We use our “circle time” to greet children and introduce the day with familiar songs. Children are musical souls at heart, so this is always well received judging by the smiles and laughter. Plus, it helps build positive relationships and improves communication skills.
We’re big on art and crafts to encourage children to engage their senses and explore creativity every day. We love celebrating all of our little Picassos’ masterpieces. Art activities encourage self-expression and creativity amongst other things.
