‘Tis the season of boozing and giving our bodies a right ol’ beating. To avoid the festive crash, we’ve got the perfect pretox to party-proof your vitals.

We could sit here and tell you to make healthy food swaps (choose a protein-rich wrap over a greasy burger and fries) and limit the Cosmopolitans (the ones you sip, not us #obvs), but we all know that ain’t gonna happen. The intention might be there, but it’s out of the window as soon as you get a whiff of LIITs. So, let’s cut the bullsh*t, admit you’re gonna let loose this month, and get your body in fighting shape before the hors d’oeuvres hit the table.

CLEANSE YOUR LIVER

“Your liver is the most important organ involved in detoxification, so your goal should be to reduce any liver-loading substances in advance to give your liver a better chance to eliminate alcohol,” says nutritionist and personal trainer Nik Toth (@theleanbodycoach). “Start off by avoiding processed foods, trans fats, and anything made with synthetic substances or treated with pesticide.”

FILL UP ON FIBER

“Incorporate chia seeds, flax seeds, pats, psyllium husk and fibrous vegetables such as celery, asparagus and leafy greens into your diet,” says Toth. “This will cleanse your bowels, and ensure you digest large amounts of food and drink most effectively.”

HIT THE GYM
