Cave Hopping In Ipoh
BaziChic Feng Shui & Chinese Astrology|March 2019

Holding a bottle of cashew nuts and munching away, I’m so in a holiday mood! It is the eve of Chinese New Year and I’m watching my favourite fantasy wuxia drama.

Cave Hopping In Ipoh

As with any wuxia drama, inevitably there will be some kind of cave scene – where the hero trains in a cave watched over by his master or is injured and brought to a cave to heal. Martial masters in wuxia dramas and famous monks and sages from the ancient world have one thing in common – caves are their preferred training and practice grounds.

This reminds me of my visit to Bodhidharma Cave at Shaolin Temple, China (refer to page 23 in the March 2016 Issue of Bazichic Magazine). Bodhidharma cultivated and taught Buddhism in this cave. The meridian spot located in the cave emanates positive Qi for the cultivation of great wisdom. It seems that caves bring about an inner peace. External problems seem very far away when you are in them.

That is why, when my friend suggested a trip to Ipoh, home to several well-known caves, I decided to do some cave hopping.

On the night of 19th July 1969, Houston told the Apollo 11 crew, “Among the large headlines concerning Apollo this morning, is one asking that you watch for a lovely girl with a big rabbit. An ancient legend says a beautiful Chinese girl called Chang’e has been living there for 4,000 years. It seems she was banished to the Moon because she stole the pill of immortality from her husband.

Revisiting Pavilion KL Mall

Revisiting Pavilion KL Mall

It has been four years since I last wrote about Pavilion KL (refer to page 45, March 2014 Issue), one of the main malls in Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Bintang area. After dropping by ABC Café at Pavilion KL, my interest in the Feng Shui of this mall was piqued again. The sky bridge linking Jalan Raja Chulan to the mall is curved as it approaches the mall preventing Sha Qi from building up, which is what happens with a straight bridge.

Face Reading: What Do Your Eyebrows Say About You?

Eyebrows have long been symbols of beauty. Since the Tang Dynasty, women have been grooming their eyebrows. During that era, women shaped their eyebrows to be sharp, pointed and dark. This is often referred to as “dot eyebrow.” Since then the obsession with beautiful brows have spawned new techniques from threading, plucking, tattooing and painting to eyebrow transplants and microblading. Beautiful well-defined eyebrows make the other features on your face stand out. It makes your eyes shine and tell a story without words.
