It's A Celebration

Pretty in pink

Tanja Robinson is a woman of many talents. A pharmacist by profession, she’s also a photographer and owns a clothing brand, Matching Me. She’s now added event stylist to the list. “For my daughter’s first birthday, I pulled out all the stops,” she explains, “which resulted in my new interest in styling occasions.” Fortunately, her parents own a venue, Meulstroom Weddings in Zusterstroom, Gauteng, so she’s able to borrow some of their accessories for her own Christmas table.

Using their pink tulle runners as the starting point, she added gold cutlery and black accents in the form of candles and plates. “The effect is pretty, but also sophisticated and glamorous.” For the flowers, Tanja enlisted the help of Iluba Longlife Flowers and combined pink pampas grass with a selection of preserved flowers that will last for months.

“We usually spend Christmas Eve with my parents, my sisters and their families,” says Tanja. “We gather at the family farm and have turns picking the theme for the table. On Christmas Day, we go to my husband’s family for a more casual celebration.”
