Settle Down In Style

If this past year has taught us anything about our living spaces, there’s nothing more important than comfort. This is especially true when considering a new sofa or couch. Luckily when it comes to couches these days there’s no need to sacrifice form for function – it’s easy enough to have both.

STAYING ON-TREND

There are endless styles to choose from when it comes to sofas and couches, but these days it seems that soft, rounded shapes reign supreme. As the team at SHF Home explain, “Mid-Century Modern sofas in curvy shapes and organic materials are most on-trend in 2020. It’s out with the rigid lines, and in with a more comfortable, rounded retro look.”

KARE’s Karin Cawthorne agrees. “We’re seeing a move towards retro-style couches and more organic shapes, and while oversized couches are still very popular, there’s a shift towards slim-profile, space-saving couches. With the current situation in the world, living spaces are smaller due to home offices becoming prevalent, so a slimmer couch or sofa could add warmth to an otherwise formal space.”

According to Collaro’s Rita Collaro, “We believe in timeless furniture that will last a lifetime. Scandi designs with clean lines and slim arms are still on-trend as it is a style that blends in and creates balance. A style growing in popularity, particularly now that everyone has been at home more, is extra-depth sofas. They are a great way to lounge around and be comfy.”
