Weekend Getaway

Spearheading the daily content of the longest running noontime show in the country is a stressful job, especially when you’re tasked to generate creative ideas instantly under a tremendous amount of pressure. But Eat Bulaga’s head writer Jenni Ferre has thrived in such an environment, striving day and night to successfully run the show for 24 years. “It’s a very demanding type of job. Habang ume-ere pa lang yung show, nag-iisip ka na kaagad ng content para bukas, para next week, at para next month,” Jenni shares.

After two decades of producing and overseeing the show, Jenni shares how everything else at work now comes to her automatically. “You get stuck with the same people in the same room every day, so lahat ng gagawin, kabisado mo na. Though at least it is quite exciting because every day is a different experience,” she states. Jenni has devoted most of her life to her work and recently realized that she needs a break—an escape from the fastpaced television industry. In the recent years, Jenni regained control over the time she has and now makes it a point to take breaks every now and then. “Today, I make sure to travel once a month because it gives me renewed enthusiasm. It breaks the monotony at work.”

Her years of hard work have yielded a weekend home in Cavite where she can escape from work and the pace of the city. Jenni currently resides in a townhouse in Marikina, which is a five-minute drive away from Eat Bulaga’s studio. Whenever she has time, she goes home to this 630sqm. vacation home to relax and rejuvenate. “As much as possible, I stay here over the weekends and just enjoy a slow and restful time,” she shares.
