The members of NAHB’s Log and Timber Homes Council host buyer events all month long.
The frontier log cabin is an American icon, with no less than seven U.S. presidents claiming one as their birth place, the most recognized of these being Abraham Lincoln, of course. But it wasn’t until the latter half of the 19th century when the Great Camps of the Adirondack Mountains and their grandiose cabins reawakened a hunger for this rustic style of construction.
“The log homes industry grew organically, rising with consumer demand for this unique style of housing,” says Josh Beasley, president of Honest Able Log Homes and the 2017 chairman of the Log and Timber Homes Council, part of the National Association of Home Builders.
