Woodstock Gardens Restoration Project
Ireland's Homes Interiors & Living Magazine|August 2019

Woodstock Gardens in Inistioge, Kilkenny were once regarded as one of the great gardens of Ireland. Although the buildings, park and gardens at Woodstock are the result of a long period of development, the design and concept of what exists today belongs to a great extent to the early and mid Victorian period from circa 1840 to 1900 and represents the garden created by Colonel William Tighe and his wife Lady Louisa.

Woodstock Gardens Restoration Project

Woodstock house and parkland dates back to circa 1745. The house was designed by Francis Bindon and was constructed for Sir William Fownes. Bindon was also responsible for the laying out of a formal landscape, some elements of which survive today.
