The main reception room was earmarked to be the owners ‘grown-up’ sanctuary, with no television and a space away from the busy household. Now refitted with a new limestone fireplace, the simple design adds a contemporary looking focal point to the whole room. It is painted in Railings; a dark colour that provides a sophisticated backdrop and allows the luxurious furnishings to take centre stage. They include a profile sofa and matador armchairs from Roche Bobois and coffee tables, credenza lamp and footstool, by Gallotti and Radice, which sit beautifully on the handwoven rug by The Rug Company. Completing the look in this room, midcentury-inspired lamps from Bert Frank and bespoke cushions commissioned from Aoife Mullane pull the whole look together.
