Matt wanted a kitchen that would complement the stunning views in his holiday home in Kilkenny. What he chose was a beautifully designed Neptune Chichester handpainted design from Castle Cabinets which is truly stunning.
My previous kitchen was a maple shaker style that was inherited with the house but it had to go! We replaced a pillar in the room with an I-beam to open up the space, and punched a hole in the wall to put in the picture window to make the most of the views over the River Barrow. We wanted to make the most of the views and also allow the most light into the space. This meant that we had to keep most of the units under counter level to allow for the window.
‘The kitchen is in a holiday home so I knew I wouldn’t be able to be on site during all of the fit out. We felt that the Neptune range would be perfect for our style of home and we also wanted to go with a kitchen supplier who could source the appliances and manage the interface between the different trades on site. Castle Cabinets were perfect for providing both of these things.’
