Singer-songwriter Holly Williams has made it her mission to return the seen-better-days properties she stumbles across online to their well-deserved glory. Her seventh labor of love in just four years: an 1820s Kentucky charmer now sitting pretty on 42 majestic wooded acres.
Holly Williams was on a mission to save tired old Tennessee farmhouses one click at a time. In between juggling three children ages 3 and under (Stella June, 3; Lillie Mae, 2; and Baby Arlo, 10 months); performing and writing songs; overseeing three, soon to be four, locations of her beloved housewares shop, White’s Mercantile (next up: Birmingham!); as well as curating clothing at her Nashville boutique, H. Audrey, the Music City multi tasker has spent the last four years pointing, clicking, buying, and then rehabbing Craigslist finds all over the Volunteer State. “I feel a huge sense of urgency,” says Holly. “I’m worried that if I don’t buy these properties and help them, they’re going to get torn down.”
