Architect Piero Lissoni speaks to ’s Tyrel rodricks about bringing his brand of contemporary design to the Oberoi Group’s newest property in the UAE
Twenty-five minutes north of Dubai’s international airport, in the emirate of Ajman, is a spot of beachfront property that’s slowly gaining prominence as a luxurious holiday destination. Among its first landmarks is the new Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah. More than its beachfront location, what makes this hotel property special is its design, a fusion of traditional elements and modern minimalism. At the helm of this aesthetic concoction is Piero Lissoni. In a telephonic conversation with AD, the master contemporary architect talks about his work on the beach resort— his first ever.
