If you can crochet a rectangle, you can make this oversized cozy shrug! It’s made using simple and quick stitches so it will be ready to wear in no time!

Premier Yarns Puzzle (bulky) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/328 yds/ 200g per ball): 3 balls #23 solitaire

Premier Yarns Serenity Chunky (bulky) weight acrylic yarn (31/2oz/109 yds/100g): 2 balls #37 raven

Premier Yarns Serenity Chunky Big (bulky) weight acrylic yarn (101/2oz/328 yds/300g): 1 ball #6 wine

Size K/101/2/6.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Size L/11/8mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Tapestry needle

GAUGE

10 dc and 6 rows/rnds = 4 inches with smaller hook

9 dc = 4 inches with larger hook

PATTERN NOTES

The shrug is made from a rectangle that is folded in half and seamed to form armholes.

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Chain-1 at beginning of round doesn’t count as a stitch.

Chain-2 at beginning of row/round counts as first-half double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Chain-3 at beginning of row/round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Row 1 (RS): With larger hook and color raven, loosely ch 96 [102, 106], dc in 4th ch from hook (sk 3 chs count as st) and in each rem ch across, turn. (94 [100, 104] dc)

Row 2: Ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), fptr (see Stitch Guide) around each dc across, ending with dc in top of turning ch at beg of previous row, turn.

Row 3: Ch 2 (see Pattern Notes), bpdc (see Stitch Guide) around each tr across, ending with hdc in top of beg ch-3, turn.
