FMS A-10 Thunderbolt II V2
As long as FMS electric jets have been feeding the need for speed, jet jocks have been snapping them up from hobby store shelves. The latest FMS release is a makeover of the venerable A-10 Thunderbolt in a bold new artic camo scheme, and it includes several key improvements.

The A-10 gets its name from its predecessor, the P-47 Thunderbolt. The A-10 is what I call a blue-collar jet; it’s no beauty but like the P-47, when it’s time to get to work it excels at providing close cover for ground troops and dispatching ground targets such as tanks and bunkers. The A-10 features armor plating to protect its pilot and critical flight control systems and rugged landing gear so it can operate from a variety of facilities. The FMS A-10 PNP model includes almost everything required to get airborne. You need only supply a 6-channel receiver and a 6S 3300mAh flight battery. The A-10 is constructed of high-density foam painted in black, white, and gray artic camo and is reinforced with carbon fiber and plastic where additional strength is needed.

The plug-in wings feature flaps, retracts, and a lighting system that’s attached to the fuselage with a handy multi-function plug. Twin in-runner motors and a pair of 80-amp speed controls turning 12-blade fans provide power. Despite being equipped with nine servos, lights, and three electric retract units, everything plugs into a central control board so that the A-10 requires only a basic 6-channel radio to operate all the gadgets.

Although the FMS A-10 is very easy to assemble, it’s a high-performance twin ducted fan jet that is intended for more experienced pilots.

PRODUCT REVIEW: RC PLANE STANDS BENCHTOP MODEL

I’m a sucker for shop stuff. I buy tools I will probably never use just because they are cool, or I might need to use them someday. When Glen from RC Plane Stands reached out about a review, however, I knew as soon as I browsed their website that I would be receiving something I would use a lot, maybe even daily.
