A FOAMIE FIXATION
Model Airplane News|November 2020
To say that Bill Yirka of Enid, Oklahoma likes foam-board RC airplanes would be an understatement, as evidenced by this photo of Bill surrounded by 274 of his own designs. Bill tells us he started flying about six years ago, noting, “Unaware of the local club, I learned on my own, which resulted in a depleted checking account and a lot of crumpled parts that once resembled store-bought wings, tails, and fuselages.”
A FOAMIE FIXATION

Undaunted, Bill persevered with his new hobby. “Low and behold, I stumbled across 4x8-foot sheets of blue insulation foam board at a Lowe’s, and the lights came on. Following 50 or so experiments that briefly flew, I found 30x20-inch sheets of foam board at Dollar Tree and, here we go.”

When Glen from RC Plane Stands reached out about a review, however, I knew as soon as I browsed their website that I would be receiving something I would use a lot, maybe even daily.
