This is especially true for kids. When flying remote control aircraft as a beginner, it is helpful to have an experienced pilot by your side. However, that may not be possible right now. I was faced with this same problem when I started. I live in a rural area without another RC pilot or club. I used these steps to learn to fly.
1 Your first step is to buy a solid beginner plane. Do not buy the big fancy warbird with the retractable landing gear and flaps. That is a mistake that I made. It is not a fun experience. Instead, go for a high-wing plane that can still fly after a couple of crashes. The HobbyZone Carbon Cub S+ or the E-flite Apprentice S are two easy fliers.
