Will SAA rise from the dead?
With airlines all over the world reducing fleets, retrenching staff, or just bidding their aircraft farewell and accepting what for many, is the inevitable outcome.
However, it seems the South African government cannot come to terms with the national airline no longer gracing global skies (after lockdown ends and aviation is resuscitated) and is now looking towards starting a new ‘SAA’. Two questions - where is the money going to come from to resurrect the dead but not buried airline? Government doesn’t have the resources and taxpayer pockets have become very shallow.
