This is to ensure social distancing and safety of customers. The expectations for jewellery sales are very high as many industry experts feel that the pentup demand of consumers will help in recovering the jewellery industry. Bringing Back Karigars and Manufacturing New Jewellery
Post lockdown, the main issue would be to bring back the skilled artisans who have already moved to their native places. In such a scenario, where manufacturing of new jewellery would be a challenge, many jewellers are planning to offer higher salary to karigars for jewellery making so that they can meet the expected jewllery demand during popular festivals like Dussehra and Diwali.
