De Beers’ rough diamond production increased by 46% to 9.17 million carats in the third quarter that ended .September 30th 2017.
The increase was in line with the higher production forecast for 2017, reflecting stable trading conditions as well as the contribution from the ramp-up of Gahcho Kué in Canada.
In the first nine months of 2017, the rough diamond output rose 29% to 25.3 million carats as against 19.5 million carats in the same period a year earlier.
