Hermès menswear artistic director Véronique Nichanian has held her position for almost 30 years — and she is not slowing down any time soon
HERMÈS’ success lies in taking time to craft the best products. Just look at the offerings it has — from fashion and accessories to leather goods and homeware. The French luxury house is also known to host large-scale events like no other, in cities like Singapore, New York, Dubai and most recently Tokyo for The Nature of Men.
Véronique Nichanian was inspired by the illustration of an abstract cityscape by architect Nigel Peake. She was so excited by that drawing that she decided to realise his vision in real life. She oversaw every detail of the experiential exhibition — appointing the right designers and architects to realise a microcity within Tokyo. Planning for the one-night-only event started in January 2016. And in October, privileged guests witnessed the spectacle at a massive hangar in Haneda International Airport.
