Holidays are almost here – hallelujah! But if you’re looking forward to poolside dozing with rosé on tap, think again.
According to a study by the University of Liverpool, just one 14-day break from exercise can reduce muscle mass and impact your fitness.
All hope is not lost, say sports scientist Luke Gray and sports psychologist Jo Gray, who designed these easy exercises to keep you on track. Perform at least two of these moves each day of your break.
CORE SHREDDER
Do this on the beach. Assume the plank position with arms extended below shoulders. Take a side step, using the right arm and right leg simultaneously. Move two side steps to the right and repeat on the left. That’s one set. Aim for 10 sets by the end of the holiday.
