The vintage-inspired watch with opulent workmanship award

Within the archives lie rich knowledge and expertise that helps a brand progress without losing sight of its identity. As Rado evolved into the masters of materials — ceramics being their virtuosity — it released the Golden Horse 1957 Limited Edition that paid tribute to an important chapter within Rado’s history books.

Unlike the futuristic appearance of its ceramicclad peers, the Golden Horse 1957 Limited Edition captured the zeitgeist of the late 1950s and early 1960s designs with its vintage outlook. The 37mm diameter, case construction and smoked coloured dial stayed true to period watchmaking though it was upgraded with a sapphire crystal to keep up with the rigours of daily wear. A pair of gold seahorses are emblematic of Rado’s illustrious past and glorious present while the re-introduction of the Rado anchor serves as an indicator for watch servicing when the anchor stops rotating.

The iconic chronograph with updated restyle award

TAG Heuer’s 160th anniversary sees the iconic Carrera family revel in the spotlight as the collection is released in several updated iterations, the latest being the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph.

Sized aptly in 42mm to present-day preference, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph exudes elegance with a polished stainless steel case with redesigned slimmer H-shaped bracelet links. A contemporary black opaline dial is the ideal backdrop for the chronograph counter layout, minute track and baton indexes referenced from the original 1963 Carrera chronograph to shine. TAG Heuer’s high performance in-house automatic chronograph calibre Heuer 02 is the workhorse powering the stylistic update.

The athleisure watch with greatest style award

When a professional tag is given to a watch in the world of horology, it is often designed with specialist occupations in mind — pilots, divers, scientists being the prominent ones. These watches can be daunting in their outlook, purpose-built to aid its wearer in providing accurate information, which in certain circumstances could matter life or death. Breitling’s current crop of professional watches — the Emergency and Aerospace EVO — are now joined by the Swiss watchmaker’s newest release — the Endurance Pro, designed with a different approach.

It might be a surprise to many, given its youthful demeanour, that Breitling’s 2020 novelty release is housed under the Swiss watchmaker’s Professional range. Released in a quintet of eye-catching colours, the Endurance Pro marks Breitling’s foray into sports with a timepiece aimed at athletes and casual sports enthusiasts.
