The’ Dwayne Bravo—the ace West Indies ‘Champion’ with a song of the very same name that had gone viral during World Twenty20. He describes himself as ‘Champion’ and he is surly one! DJ Bravo, an eminent entertainer on and off the field, is now looking forward his career in music which he endorses is the key to life. The Trinidadian cricketer expresses, “I think music is in everyone’s life. Even if you go into the shower, you are humming some tunes. I never had any music lessons; I never believed that I can sing. Even now, I think I am not the best singer vocally, but I believe I can do whatever I want to do as long as I have my mind into it.”
Like Brian Lara in cricket, he has his music idols too, he shares, “Beenie Man from Jamaica is extremely popular back home.
He is a dancehall artiste and is known as the Michael Jackson of the genre. He is the main person who has inspired me and I’ve always wanted to be like him”.
Cricket has been his childhood passion though he faced a lot of challenges due to financial constraints. His father was a taxi driver but his parents made a lot of sacrifices to make him what he is today. Bravo equips,” Yes, it was bit challenges as there we seven of us in the family. In earlier stages my parents made sacrifices but now I am in a position to give them smooth and comfortable life. I also appreciate whatever they did for me. I am who I am all because of them”.
