Breakup survival guide
Time with BAE went from blissful to busted? Smart steps to getting over them for good.
By Sara Rowe

NO MATTER WHO CALLED IT OFF, BREAKUPS ARE TOUGH. HERE’S HOW TO MAKE EACH STAGE A BIT MORE BEARABLE.

FROM TAKEN TO ACHIN’

You started the day with a bae. Now they’re history…and you’re left feeling like the fifth track on a Taylor Swift album.

DON’T: Pretend like everything’s fine. Whether you saw it coming or not, going from coupled up to single is a big change. At first, you may feel like you can totally handle the heartache, but keeping your emotions tucked away will make you more stressed.

DO: Seek out your bestie, mom, or a beloved aunt for a sympathetic ear, some advice, and, yeah, tissues as you tearfully tell them how the breakup went down. Getting it all out will help heal your heart.

GETTING MAD—AND EVEN?

Now that the reality of your new status has set in, you’re furious—and want the world to turn against them, too.
