About To Say *This*? Here's Why You Should Think Again...

LISTEN: We know people are prone to pick apart the way girls talk. That’s not our thing. But one of the (many) things 2020 has taught us is the words you choose matter (thanks, politics).

That’s why we are looking at the phrases that have a negative effect on how you think and feel. From apologizing when things aren’t your fault to publicly bashing your body, so many girls undercut themselves by using language that belittles their thoughts and feelings. Ready to drop those damaging words? Read on for six sentiments to banish (plus four phrases that *everyone* should be using more).

“OMG! I’M SOOO SORRY.”

Let’s all quit over-apologizing, OK? Spend a day keeping count of how many times you squeak out a sorry— we bet you’re sending regrets for things you so don’t need to. When you always accept the blame, people start to think things actually *are* your fault. Plus, falling on the sword deflates the value of those honest-to-goodness needed apologies (think: accidentally spilling a BFF’s secret). Stop feeling bad for the less-than-perfect moments.
