Smartphones make navigating new places much simpler. But when the details start to slip through the cracks, your device can quickly turn from ally to antagonist. Lifestyle and travel blogger Raya Rossi shares easy tips to avoiding a mobile-induced meltdown while on holiday.
1 Use your phone as a dossier file
Store all information related to flights, tickets, routes and museum passes on your smartphone so you don’t have to lug around multiple travel guides with you. Apps like Google Maps (free on iOS and Android), Garmin Explore (free on iOS and Android) and Tripit (free on iOS and Android) will be key during these times. It’s also a great idea to keep image folders with copies of all your important documents, such as passports and visas, just in case.
2 Switch to flight mode
