Ah, Christmas – it’s the most wonderful time of the year... or is it? for many people, the festive season has become one of the most stressful times. Instead of cheer and merriment, there’s an endless to-do list, strain on the bank account, and potential family strife. In a 2015 survey, 62% of people questioned said they were either ‘very’ or ‘somewhat’ stressed around the holidays. The survey further revealed that the big worries at this time of year include finances – a whopping 47% stress about how to afford it all – sticking to a diet (16%), and picking the right gifts for everyone on the list (15%). So how do we have more fun and festive cheer? Health and wellbeing expert Dr Pixie McKenna offers advice on how to cope with common anxieties, so you can swop the nail-biting and sleepless nights for a stress-free, more festive time.
