ELLE Singapore|January 2020
Supriya Lele has a dress fitted on the body so tight it creates a pattern of ruching from the strain on its fabric. The placket of buttons is askew and half undone, almost as if incapable of holding the body in. Yet it doesn’t possess the provocative appeal of say, that Versace Jennifer Lopez dress, which led to the creation of Google Images (it actually inspired the tech company to create the visual search function), or a veneer so unappealing it causes one to shrink away. It transcends the adjectives “sexy” and “illfitting” entirely, for that matter.
