Cosmo lectoras nos han transmitido a través de encuestas en nuestras redes sociales que su cuerpo las hace sentir inseguras: pechos pequeños, pancita, lonjitas, caderas amplias, muslos prominentes… características que no empatan con los estereotipos de la belleza femenina y les causan un shock emocional para aceptarse a sí mismas, valorarse y amarse. Nos sorprendió saber, por ejemplo, que varias de ellas apagan la luz para tener sexo (esta encuesta la hicimos para el artículo “Sí, puedes diseñar tu libertad sexual”, en la edición de agosto de este mismo año).
Justo por esto, nos preguntamos: ¿será que debemos seguir luchando contra estos estereotipos? ¿O lo más sano es reconocer nuestras creencias, deshacernos de aquellas que nos dañan y aceptar las que genuinamente decidimos asimilar en nuestra vida para encaminarnos a lograr aquello que nos hará sentir agusto, satisfechas, con nosotras mismas?
Porque nada es verdad absoluta. Para una mujer puede resultar menos complejo aceptar sus rollitos o su cuerpo esbelto y sin curvas; para otra, quizá, esto le signifique un rotundo motivo de vergüenza de sí misma. Al final, cada persona crea su realidad y su autopercepción, pero todo comienza con aceptar qué es lo que realmente queremos, creemos y sentimos. Porque no hay negros o blancos, ni siquiera grises. Esta vida es multicolor.
Y, en este sentido, queremos cuestionar incluso la idea de que hay que romper estereotipos, porque creemos más en que cada persona define sus propias reglas del juego; se trata de conocer nuestra esencia y valorarla desde lo que somos.
