THE CROWN REACHES THE 1980S’ BIGGEST MARRIAGE STORY…
Gabriel Tate

After 30 episodes, Peter Morgan’s royal epic The Crown arrives at perhaps its most anticipated plotline – the ill-fated fairytale romance of Charles and Diana. Season 4 spans the late ’70s to 1989, with Josh O’Connor returning to play the prince and series newcomer Emma Corrin (Pennyworth) stepping into the spotlight as the future Princess of Hearts. Here’s the duo on star-crossed love, Her Maj and epic arguments…

Emma, do you feel the pressure of the role?

EMMA CORRIN: There are parallels between Diana being plucked from obscurity and my situation. I remember I was with Ben Caron, one of our directors, when I was offered the part. He said that any time I was photographed or interviewed or felt nervous or exposed, use it because it’s exactly what she would have been feeling. That was massively helpful.

Do you think Diana had any idea of what she was getting into?
