A story that taps into the true-life phenomenon of teenagers groomed by drug dealers to do their dirty work? In other hands, County Lines could have turned into a violent exploitation flick. “There had been a habit within British entertainment, if you like, to put a genre on everything and I just didn’t feel that was the way to tackle this material,” debut director Henry Blake tells Teasers. “I’m not interested in being cool or on-trend or anything like that as a filmmaker.”
