‘No one's asked me to try acting!'

The irrepressible Michael McIntyre bursts back on to our screens this week with a brand-new stand-up special on Netflix.

Recorded at the London Palladium just before the nation went into lockdown, Michael McIntyre: Showman sees the hugely popular comedian reveal, among other things, his strategy for reducing shark attacks and the difference between American and British audiences, as well as sharing his tales of family life.

TV Times called Michael, 44, to find out more...

What can we expect?

I tried to make it as funny as possible – that is always my aim! You won’t be learning, there’s nothing political, thank the Lord, we’ve all had enough of that. It was a great night. We recorded it on 5 and 6 March, the last time I performed comedy – hopefully not the last time I’ll ever perform comedy! I have to say, I’m missing being social. I run into people in the street who want to say ‘hi’ and get a picture – obviously we keep our distance – but I won’t let them go! I’ve seen at least one person delete the photo as they walk off, like, ‘That guy’s crazy!’

Comedy is a very sociable business, isn’t it?
