Most of us could do with a bit of sunshine and escapism in our lives right now, and C4’s heart-warming new documentary series Work on the Wild Side offers plenty of both.
The 20-part teatime series, airing Monday to Friday for the next four weeks, follows UK vets and volunteers who have moved to South Africa to help look after the extraordinary creatures that live there.
Among them is Harriet Nimmo, who had a coveted job as a charity CEO and an enviable life in Bristol when an unexpected turn of events nine years ago prompted her and her husband, Mike, to leave it all behind and start a new life-saving elephants in the veld.
Here, Harriet, 57, tells TV Times how her decision to escape the UK has completely changed her life…
