It's A Wonderful Mammy!

Every family has their own festive traditions. Here at TV Times, we’re particularly partial to a mince pie (or two!), a Morecambe and Wise rerun and, of course, tuning in to see Agnes Brown’s annual Christmas-tree reveal!

And as we call Mrs. Brown’s Boys creator and star Brendan O’Carroll, 64, for a natter about all things festive, we’re pleased when the lovely star promises we won’t be left disappointed by this year’s two seasonal episodes as there’s more tinsel than you can shake a stick at…

What can you tell us about the much-anticipated Christmas Day special, which pays homage to the classic 1946 movie It’s a Wonderful Life?

It’s a lovely, funny and warm story called A Wonderful Mammy. Agnes is having a terrible day where everybody annoys her. Later, while waiting on a drink in Foley’s Bar, Agnes voices out loud that she wishes she’d never been born. Clyde, an angel-in-training eager to get his wings – who’s played by Kevin Kennedy, AKA Curly Watts in Coronation Street – overhears and says he can show her what that would be like!

A world without Agnes… We just can’t imagine it!
