Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team never shy away from a challenge. And their latest big project for BBC’s Children in Need is certainly no exception – especially as they also faced unprecedented changes to their way of working because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Kick-starting a new four-part series of BBC1’s DIY SOS: The Big Build, the special episode follows Nick and co as they work around the clock to build a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly surf center for Surfability UK, a charity in the Gower Peninsula in Wales that provides surfing lessons for people with disabilities and learning difficulties.
Here, TV Times chats to Nick, 58, about how it all came together…
