Scottish actors Mark Bonnar and Jamie Sives had a head start in terms of chemistry when it came to playing brothers in new BBC2 drama Guilt – they’ve known each other since school!
The darkly comic four-part thriller launches on BBC Scotland on Thursday 24 October before its BBC2 debut this week, and is written by Neil Forsyth (Eric, Ernie and Me, Bob Servant). It sees the old pals play chalk-and-cheese siblings Max (Shetland star Mark) and Jake (Chernobyl actor Jamie), who run over a pensioner while driving home from a wedding.
The pair hatch a plan to make it look as though the old man died at home from natural causes, but the cover-up soon starts to unravel.
TV Times visited Mark, 50, and Jamie, 46, on set in Glasgow to find out more about the series…
What attracted you to Guilt?
Jamie: It was the money and the offer of a job! Seriously, though – you get sent the script and it’s by Neil Forsyth, who’s great, and Mark Bonnar is already attached to the project. It’s a no-brainer.
