‘Every day should be Mother's Day!'

Mrs Brown is wearing her good cardigan, a fresh tissue is up her sleeve and the kettle is on. It can only mean one thing: everyone’s favourite Dublin matriarch – played by Brendan O’Carroll – is back and ready to open up her home to more celebrity guests in a new series of BBC1’s All Round to Mrs Brown’s.

So TV Times thought, who better to help us celebrate Mothering Sunday this weekend than mammy-of-six Mrs B?

We called Brendan, 64, at his Florida home, where he shared some very special memories of his own mum, who sadly passed away, aged 71, in 1984, and revealed why Mrs Brown thinks every day should be Mother’s Day!

Agnes has big expectations for Mother’s Day… She wants huge, big cards and lots of chocolate. It doesn’t always happen, but she expects it!

Nobody has a harder job than a mother... Agnes thinks if it wasn’t for mothers – and her, in particular – the world would stop. She’s of the opinion that every day should be Mother’s Day!

Agnes thinks she’s the best mum in the world… And she believes it’s a pity that all children don’t have her for a mother because they’d be much better off!
