Donald Trump has had no shortage of feuds since he was elected US President, but no fallout has been more bitter than his battle with FBI Director James Comey.
This week, a new Sky Atlantic drama looks back at the pair’s volatile relationship, featuring Jeff Daniels as Comey and a scene-stealing Brendan Gleeson as Trump.
Based on Comey’s tell-all book A Higher Loyalty, the four-parter follows events from the explosive 2016 election until Comey was fired by Trump in May 2017.
This week’s opening episode is set during the run-up to the election. Barack Obama (Peaky Blinders’ Kingsley Ben-Adir) is still in office when Comey becomes a hate figure to Democrat voters after he reopens an investigation into presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s emails, just 11 days before she takes on Trump at the polls.
